Residential Living Assistant provides individualized care to the patients of a group home or residential living facility. Assists the patients on daily basis with personal care and hygiene. Being a Residential Living Assistant transports patients within the facility or on supervised outings. Administers and records medications given to residents. Additionally, Residential Living Assistant may administer medications under the supervision of a nurse or physician. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Residential Living Assistant possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Job Duties and Responsibilities- Under the direction of the Executive Director, by generally accepted administrative practices.
- Maintain personnel records and documentation standards called for by Title 22, Title 17, and company policies.
- Serve as backup to the Executive Director.
Completion of an approved residential-elderly administrator certification program. Completion of at least 15 college or continuing education units. At least one year of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities. Current training in first aid and CPR. Have the personal characteristics, physical energy, and competence to work effectively with residents, families, and staff.
