Mobile Health Van & Facilities Assistant
Position Focus:
The Mobile Health Van and Facilities Assistant works as a support staff in conjunction with the diverse programming of Alliance for Living.
The position will support an NIH grant-funded project related to infectious disease, primarily HIV infection treatment and its prevention, and substance use disorder in people with justice involvement.
The MVFA will perform the majority of their responsibilities on a mobile health unit (MHU) that will be based in Eastern CT.
Their primary responsibilities will include the following: driving, assisting with maintenance and sanitation of the mobile health van.
In addition, the MVFA is an integral part of the maintenance of the Alliance for Living building.
They will work as support staff with daily operations of the Alliance for Living’s Essential of Life Programming.
Essential Duties:
1. Drives the MHU during operating hours of the research project and ensure required maintenance is completed on schedule; and assist with regular sanitation of the MHU.
2. Ensures AFL vehicles are operating to the highest quality. They will ensure vehicles receive all proper maintenance.
3. Keep accurate and detail count of gas usage, miles and other vehicle related data.
4. Provides minor building maintenance and repair to AFL building and spaces as needed.
5. Ensure that all building equipment is working properly and informs their supervisor.
6. Completes AFL facilities regular maintenance tasks, stocking, trash and recycles disposal, light cleaning to ensure the AFL building is clutter free and clean.
7. Assists with purchasing, ordering, and stocking of AFL pantry and delivery of meals.
8. Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Harm Reduction Specialist
37.5 hours/week - Non-Exempt
Salary - $20.51/ per hour
General Information:
The Harm Reduction Specialist will provide distribution of safer drug use supplies including sterile syringes, works, safer smoking and snorting supplies, and Narcan, and harm reduction education regarding safer use, safer sex, HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis, and overdose prevention and response. Coordinate the collection and disposal of used syringes, provide sterile syringes and other harm reduction supplies through the Syringe Services Program, and provide training and supplies for overdose prevention, including Naloxone training. The Harm Reduction Specialist will also provide HIV and HCV testing at the AFL site and in the community.
