Residential Living Assistant provides individualized care to the patients of a group home or residential living facility. Assists the patients on daily basis with personal care and hygiene. Being a Residential Living Assistant transports patients within the facility or on supervised outings. Administers and records medications given to residents. Additionally, Residential Living Assistant may administer medications under the supervision of a nurse or physician. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Residential Living Assistant possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Responsibilities:
The Residential Assistant will perform, coordinate and monitor the daily non-clinical operations of the program.
Provide orientation of clients into the community.
Conduct tour of the facility and make introductions.
Problem solve and provide other support to clients as needed. Serve as a role model. Assist in new client admissions.
Review rules and regulations, issue linens, assign bedrooms, sign appropriate releases, gather birth certificates and social security cards, etc.
Requirements:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Advanced education preferred.
Experience working with a substance abuse population is strongly preferred.
A candidate must have at least 4 years in recovery, if applicable.
Must have a valid driver's license and insured auto.
