Being a Residential Living Assistant, Sr. transports patients within the facility or on supervised outings. May assist with meetings and appointments with healthcare providers. Additionally, Residential Living Assistant, Sr. administer medications under the supervision of a nurse or physician. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Assistant Living Director: Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties of the position may include, but are not limited to the following areas:
Evaluates the outcome of care and judgments on unit daily to assure high quality care.
Communicates and maintains the schedule for staffing. Fills empty shifts when able, works the floor when no staff available.
Maintains a unit environment conducive to the physical, spiritual, and emotional well-being of residents and staff members.
Uses problem solving techniques with staff and guests when problems are encountered.
Make rounds frequently on all guests on her/his unit to see that all problems are dealt with as they occur.
Responsible for all nursing responsibilities including charting to ensure proper documentation, physician visits and other ancillary services.
Responsible for maintaining compliance in regulations for Adult Foster Care Homes.
Assist in developing shift responsibilities including medication administration, care schedules, care planning and other responsibilities.
Participates in training and developing staff.
Participates in hiring and disciplining employees in the assisted living.
Works to see that filing, transcribing, and other duties are done. Oversees and participates in the documentation of all interventions and judgments. Teaches, guides, and leads co-workers, guests, and their families utilizing his/her knowledge of gerontology.
Evaluates and upgrades the quality of care rendered and performance of all workers. Delegates tasks to coworkers utilizing good discretion and judgment.
Maintains a safe and therapeutic environment according to facility policies and state regulations. Promotes a positive attitude with a teamwork approach.
Implements the facility policies and procedures.
Director of Assisting Living Requirements:
1. Must be able to read, write, and understand English language
2. Must attend a minimum of 12 hours of continuing education programs provided by the center to maintain certification
3. Indiana State Licensed LPN/RN
4. Extensive knowledge of department processes
5. 2-3 years professional experience in similar position with strong emphasis on Nursing experience
6. Leadership, management, and analytical ability
