BROAD SCOPE OF POSITION:
Responsible for supervision of, and participation in all housekeeping and laundry functions necessary to maintain an attractive, clean, safe and comfortable environment at Sedona Winds Retirement Community.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
· Interviews, hires, trains, schedules and supervises housekeeping staff; secures replacements for absences
· Maintains accurate and current inventory of all linens, supplies, chemicals, etc., within strict budgetary limits
· Ensures proper storage of chemicals and supplies for safety in accordance with all OSHA regulations and Canyon Winds policies and procedures
· Contracts with third party vendors for required supplies and services
· Complies with all OSHA regulations
· Reads, understands and complies with all issues regarding residents’ rights
· Maintains good relationships with residents to ensure resident satisfaction
· Responsible for understanding and complying with all regulations regarding the proper handling and disposal of hazardous waste; trains housekeeping staff accordingly
NON-ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
· High School diploma or equivalent
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
· At least two years in a supervisory position in housekeeping or janitorial capacity - preferably in senior housing or retirement and assisted living environment
· Experience in long term or geriatric care preferred
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND REQUIREMENTS:
· Knowledge of ordering and inventorying supplies, linens, chemicals, etc.
· Knowledge of cleaning solvents and chemicals
· Knowledge of senior housing or retirement communities very beneficial
· Must be able to communicate with residents, staff and supervisor
· Must be able to follow cleaning procedures
· Must be respectful of resident needs and personal property
