Residential Living Supervisor supervises the work of a residential living staff. Provides training to resident assistants on proper care giving techniques. Being a Residential Living Supervisor may administer medications under the supervision of a nurse or physician. May require an associate degree or its equivalent. Additionally, Residential Living Supervisor typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Residential Living Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Purpose
To assist consumers in performing the functions of daily living with as much independence as possible. Under general supervision, to guide consumers to be self-directed by teaching consumer’s decision making skills and encouraging independence as defined in each person's Personal Support/Habilitation Plan. To provide assistance in a manner that supports the personal dignity of the consumers.
Providing support services for individuals with development and physical disabilities within their own home setting.
Assist consumers in performing daily living functions such as personal hygiene, dining skills, household chores and community integration, etc.
Assist with meal preparation, teach dining skills and promote social skills and personal dignity during meals.
Ensures safe and clean living conditions at all times.
Administers medications at the appropriate time
