Natchaug Hospital is Eastern Connecticut's leading provider for children, adolescents and adults with mental illness and substance abuse addictions. Job Summary

Responsible for oversight of Journey House programmatic activities on assigned shift, including documentation requirements, and the safety of up to 12 residents and all staff working the shift. Monitors and implements program policies and procedures. Responsible for critical decision making in issues of health and safety. Administers medication to residents with oversight from a Registered Nurse. Participates in interdisciplinary team meetings.

• Participates in hiring, training, evaluation and disciplinary action process of assigned staff. Provides input into staff performance assessments.
• Delegate tasks to increase productivity and develop staff.
• Develops a monthly staff schedule and ensures adequate coverage.
• Oversees the activities, daily living, and shift programming for all residents and staff.

Qualifications

• Five years experience in the social services field required
• Associates degree in a Human Services field.
• Experience may be considered in lieu of education
• At least two years Supervisory experience preferred
• Experience working with adolescents preferred
• Ability to obtain DCF Medication Administration Certification required
• Current Connecticut drivers license with ability to obtain PSL 'A' endorsement required
• Ability to cover shifts not normally assigned and must have and maintain a telephone number for scheduling
• Computer proficiency and keyboard skills required
• Strong communication, interpersonal and leadership skills required
