Position: Live-Out Farm Manager
Schedule: Full-Time, five days/week (M - F, 8 AM - 5 PM)
Location: New Preston, CT (300 Acre Gentleman’s Farm)
Current Staff: 2 Housekeepers and 3 Farm Laborers
Salary: $80,000/yr. - $110,000/yr. Plus Health Insurance
Overview
A Domestic Couple is retiring after 30 years, and their client is now seeking an experienced farm/property manager to fill the role. Candidates must be experienced working on a farm or property and be able to demonstrate skills pertaining to all the duties outlined below. The family prefers someone who is professional and highly trustworthy.
- The manager’s responsibilities include monitoring staff and livestock, purchasing supplies, and preparing budgets and reports.
- The candidate must be detail-oriented, a problem solver, focused on efficiency, and hands-on in his or her approach to management.
- Analyzing existing operations, four horses / two donkeys, hay, staff, and financial documents and recommending improvements.
- Preparing plans and schedules for planting and harvesting and ensuring staff understands expectations.
- Visiting the different divisions to inspect crops and barns and perform tests on soil and water.
- Ensuring seeds, fertilizers, and other supplies are regularly restocked.
- Scheduling repairs, maintenance, and replacement of equipment and machinery.
- Ensuring all staff adheres to health and safety regulations.
- Collaborating with senior staff
- Building professional networks and keeping abreast of developments in agricultural science.

Requirements
- Proven experience in farm/property management or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of building systems, maintenance practices, and safety regulations.
- Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and manage resources effectively.
- Within driving distance to the property
- Proficiency in using facility management software, MS Office Suite, and other relevant tools.
- Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Availability to respond to emergencies and address facility-related issues outside of regular business hours, if required.
- Valid driver's license (if driving is necessary for property-related duties).
