Residential Property Manager manages the daily operations of one or more residential properties or communities. Oversees sales/leasing, tenant relations, maintenance, and other support activities. Being a Residential Property Manager may be responsible for managing property budgets, collections and/or property improvement initiatives. May require a bachelor's degree in related area. Additionally, Residential Property Manager typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Residential Property Manager supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Residential Property Manager typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     JOB SUMMARY:MarWest Commercial, a division of FirstService Residential, is actively looking for a Junior Property Accountant to join to Client Accounting team. This is a great opportunity to join a dynamic team!

    Accounts Receivable

    • Coding of Invoices
    • Verifying/posting invoices
    • Coordinating invoice approvals with Property Managers
    • Informing Property Managers on which vendors do not meet compliance requirements
    • Processing A/P checks
    • Answering phone calls from vendors and researching questions
    • Any and all other functions of A/P

    Accounts Payable

    • Deposit owner checks
    • Post payments from bank lockbox to owner accounts
    • Assess late charges twice per month
    • Verifying and printing statements/invoices (including stuffing and mailing statements)
    • Responding to phone calls regarding A/R
    • Any and all other functions of A/R

    Administrative Duties

    • Filing of A/P, A/R and other accounting documentation
    • Back up for phones/front desk duties
    • Assisting Accounting Manager(s) and Controller as needed
    • Any and all other duties as assigned

    Other Job Requirements

    • Intermediate to Advanced MS Excel skills
    • Intermediate MS Word skills
    • Excellent accuracy and attention to detail
    • Organized and excellent multi-tasking skills
    • High volume data entry experience required
    • Minimum of 2 years of experience in Accounting or 2 years A/P or A/R experience
    • Bachelor's Degree or a minimum of 2 years of college level Accounting coursework preferred
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Positive attitude and team player a must!

    • None

    Education & Experience

    • Bachelor's degree or a combination of college coursework and relevant job experience preferred.

    • General office equipment

    Physical Requirements/Work Environment

    • Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
    • Must be able to sit for extended periods of time.
    • Must have finger dexterity for typing/using a keyboard.
    • Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors, vendors and our clients
    • Valid California Driver's License and State mandated vehicle insurance, and registration.
    • Ability to walk extensive slope and/or flat association areas and visually review landscape, building areas, recreation facilities, parks etc. to ensure proper maintenance.
    • Ability to work late into evenings as required for board meeting attendance.

    This is a full time position with typical scheduled hours, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. May be required to work overtime as needed and approved by supervisor, including occasional evening meetings. Consistent and regular attendance required.
