Building and Land Technology “BLT” is seeking a Residential Property Accountant to join our team in Stamford, CT. The primary function of this role is to provide day to day accounting functions for BLT’s portfolio of apartment communities. The Residential Property Accountant would report to the Residential Controller.
Responsibilities of the Residential Property Accountant
• Prepare financial reporting and analysis for multiple BLT residential properties.
• Maintain monthly work papers.
• Prepare work papers and analyses required for annual audit process.
• Prepare work papers and analyses required for income tax and sales tax filings.
• Assist in preparation of annual budgets.
• Interact with the operations, accounts receivable and accounts payable groups as required.
• Record monthly journal entries.
• Prepare monthly bank reconciliations.
Qualifications of the Residential Property Accountant
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
• 2-4 years of direct experience in real estate accounting and reporting.
• Strong sense of urgency and ability to meet deadlines is a must.
• Strong communication skills.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel is required.
• Experience with real estate accounting software
