Resource Development Coordinator - Higher Ed. is responsible for the development and maintenance of the institution's donation and gift records. Summary
All activities necessary to assist Afghan elder refugee clients in becoming acclimated to and integrated in life in the United States. Evaluate client strengths, barriers, and education needs. Assist with daily living needs as required, including English as a Second Language. Provide support as they prepare for United States citizenship. Provide transportation for clients to and from morning program at MCRC. Prepare and deliver instruction in the morning program.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities will include intake of clients and instruction in the MCRC morning program. Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
1. Able to communicate with Afghan ethnic groups about life skills issues.
2. Able to prepare classroom materials and deliver instruction.
3. Organized, and able to manage multiple tasks.
4. Maintains files and case narratives on clients and services received.
5. Willingness to recruit for program.
6. Good oral and written English proficiency.
7. Working knowledge of public assistance program (match grant, cash, and food stamps).
Administrative
1. Development and maintenance of client files.
2. Collection and tabulation of client/programmatic outcomes as assigned.
3. Client and programmatic reports as assigned.
4. Attendance at required staff meetings.
5. Preparation of materials and data entry on computer.
6. Performs other duties as assigned or as may be required to meet emergency situations.
Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Education and/or Experience
BA or BS in Education or a Human Services field with one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
Able to read and speak English with proficiency. Bi-lingual in English and another foreign language desirable, specifically Pashto, Dari.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Computer Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing, and Spreadsheet software. Documents may additionally be filed “on-line” via the internet.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
Valid driver’s license required. Three years of driving experience in the United States.
Other Skills and Abilities
1 year refugee experience preferred.
Multicultural sensitivity and acceptance of cultural differences.
Salary: $16-$17 an hour
