    About this opportunity:

    This Divisional Resource Development Director position will lead, train and mentor a team of professionals to raise funds to enable the mission of The Salvation Army in Alabama, Louisiana, and Mississippi.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • The candidate will develop and nurture current and prospective donors, including individuals, foundations, government agencies, and corporations in an assigned geographic region of the Division.
    • Respond to inquiries and communicate with donors, advisory organization members, Salvation Army employees and leaders.
    • The position has direct oversight for a team of professionals and will be responsible for training, mentoring and accountability of its members.
    • There is required day and overnight travel within the three-state region and covering these areas (Jackson, Vicksburg, Monroe, and Shreveport).
    • This position will be based in Jackson, MS.

    You are an ideal match for the role if you have:

    • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university (preferably in a related field of study) and five years’ experience performing progressively responsible fundraising work in a charitable organization withdemonstrated successful fundraising and donor relations, and three years’ supervisory work in a major gifts environment.
    • Experience in leading a team of fund-raising professionals.
    • Proven history of establishing and maintaining strong long-term donor relationships.
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
    • Track record of achieving goals.
    • Prior experience with a donor management system.
    • Managing own travel based on donor visits.
