    Reports to: Chief Executive Officer

    JOB DESCRIPTION:

    • Work with the CEO and Board of Directors to cultivate and solicit donations from individuals, corporations, foundations, and government agencies.
    • Plan, coordinate and supervise all fundraising events.
    • Develop, implement and manage an annual campaign for unrestricted gifts from individuals.
    • Establish and maintain appropriate communications between Board of Directors, volunteers and staff members.
    • Coordinate appeal letters, thank you letters and organizational information correspondence to donors and supporters.
    • Work alongside the Marketing and Communications Coordinator to prepare collateral materials for the public.
    • Develop, maintain and increase the donor database to promote major cultivation and solicitation.
    • Cultivate, manage, and steward relationships with donors and prospects including individuals, corporations, foundations, and government agencies; leverage the CEO’s and Board Members’ time in cultivating high potential donors and prospects.
    • Develop and supervise donor recognition and stewardship strategies and events.
    • Monitor and report regularly on the progress of the development program.
    • Work closely with the Chair of the Development Committee to guide and implement strategies for board engagement
    • Other duties as assigned

    QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

    Knowledge

    Demonstrated knowledge of technology, information management systems, marketing, resource development, donor software, communication, and public relations skills.Business communications—written and verbal.

    Education

    A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent education and/or work experience.

    Experience

    A minimum of five (5) years of resource development, and special events implementation in a non-profit organization with responsibilities of directing, managing, and implementing all marketing, resource development, and special event strategies. Knowledge of the policies, programs, and procedures of Boys & Girls Clubs, or of the principles and practices of similar non-profit organizations.

    Other Requirements

    • Meet the eligibility of insurance company regulations for operating club vehicle(s).
    • Valid (MS) driver’s license.Certified in CPR and First Aid or able to obtain CPR and First Aid within ninety days of hire date.
    • Flexibility to attend evening fundraising and networking events when necessary.

    • The work time is conducted in an office setting.
    • Travel Required: Ability to travel local as needed.

    Physical and Mental Requirements

    Demonstrated ability to: Maintain a high energy level. Be comfortable performing multi-faceted projects in conjunction with day-to-day activities. Ability to speak clearly and hear the spoken word. Routinely required to move or lift objects up to 30 lbs. Required travel to Club sites within the organization using the organization’s vehicle or a rented or personal motor vehicle.
