    Position Summary: The Resource Coordinator provides “hands on” ongoing support to CPI’s, team members and community agencies to track the real time status of services referrals and ensure a well-coordinated continuum of resources and supports for diversionary purposes. This includes linkages with Faith Based organizations, community programs, and natural supports throughout Brevard County. This position will develop and maintain strong working relationships with partners, providers, and stakeholders to successfully divert families from entering the child welfare system in a solution focused manner. The Resource Coordinator will manage a Flexible Funding Budget, enter case activity into FSFN and produce necessary reports on utilization in a culturally competent, flexible, and responsive service delivery system

    Technical/Functional Expectations:

    1. Collaboration with CPIs, Family Members, Service Providers and Community Agencies- This position ensures services referrals and community linkages are completed up front during the investigation for early engagement, identification of need and intervention. The Resource Coordinator maintains strong working relationships with DCF front line staff, supervisors, and PA’s and manages an on-site supply of tangible resources with ready access to food pantry and other concrete resources to be expedited.
    2. Manage Flexible Funding-This allows for immediate authorization of payments to prevent entry from the formal child welfare system and to avoids shelter, crisis or filing of petition whenever possible
    3. Identify Early Immediate Services and Assists with Investigation. The Resource Coordinator services as a resource expert, apprised of provider resources, community services, grants, in kind, Medicaid and other 3rd party resources available. This position ensures data entry into FSFN of appropriate resource linkage including outcome of case and linkages and makes Child Care referrals when childcare is indicated as risk factor for family.
    4. Relationship Maintenance – This position fosters and maintains ongoing relationships with family members, providers, and community resources to coordinate services and advocate for families, participates in staffing’s/team meetings involving assigned families, and complies with requirements for documentation based on policies and procedures including updates received via email, trainings, staff meetings, and other written communications.
    5. Service Provider Liaison - Liaise with service providers, education system, DCF and SAMH to ensure services are culturally competent and linguistically sensitive.
    6. Other duties as required: Job performance requires fulfilling other incidental or related duties aassigned, assisting, and training others, and performing duties of higher rated positions from time ttime for developmental purposes.

    Business Experience:

    1. Valid Driver's License - Essential: This position requires a valid driver’s license to travel throughout the County and requires $100,000/$300,000 bodily injury insurance coverage (per FL Statute) to transport clients.
    2. 3 Yearsexperience navigating the child welfare system: Prior experience navigating the child welfare system is required to be able to aid and to access various services.
    3. Formal experience as a consumer, foster or adoptive parent: This is required to successfully advocate for families and to aid with resource linkages.
    Educational and Experience Requirements:
    1. High School Diploma required.
    2. AA/AS - Associates Degree or equivalent preferred.
    3. 3 years’ experience navigating the child welfare system required.
    4. Experience as a Consumer, Adoptive or Foster Parent preferred.
