The Purpose of Your Role
The primary goal of the field rep is to drive referrals from healthcare providers, inpatient mental health facilities, and therapists. Success will primarily be measured by the number of new patients resulting from your efforts. Activities that result in success include: prospecting new referral sources, educating referrers on what we do, how we have the best results in the industry, what type of patient is a good fit, how to refer, and overcoming objections.
These conversations typically happen when the field rep brings lunch in for the office of primary care, pediatric, internal medicine, OBGYN, psychiatrist, therapist, or other referral sources. These conversations also happen through one-on-one interactions while visiting a referring office to thank them/follow up on a past conversation, group presentations, clinic tours, attending and exhibiting at conferences, and hosting company-sponsored functions. An effective field rep will learn about the various diagnoses we treat and effectively communicate how we do so to achieve unparalleled results. The field rep will set activity and new patient admission goals and create plans to achieve those goals. Weekly reporting and accountability is essential as is maintaining all referral contacts and activity up to date in our CRM/Salesforce. World-class outreach relationships are built on honesty, trustworthiness, and integrity.
