Summary:
Assist with Respiratory Therapy needs for non-critically ill patients in a hospital setting. To administer oxygen, aerosol therapy, suction, EKG, blood gasses, cleaning/sterilization of equipment, and other duties as assigned. Maintains good demeanor and complies with policies and procedures.
Responsibilities:
While employed the Respiratory care assistant will work under the direct supervision of licensed respiratory care practitioner
Performs assigned duties promptly and accurately in accordance with established departmental policies and procedures.
Maintains/documents on medical record according to policy and maintains files and handles documents appropriately Job-specific Standard
Consistently demonstrates flexibility in schedule changes secondary to unforeseen circumstances in order to provide coverage to patients.
Consistently demonstrates a high degree of professionalism through interaction with coworkers, patients, and families consistently communicates department and hospital goals and objectives to staff in a professional and supportive manner.
Demonstrates an ability to recognize and act on laboratory panic values. Takes immediate action based on generally accepted practices.
