Respiratory Care Manager plans and implements the overall respiratory care policies, procedures, and services. Ensures efficient and effective departmental operations. Being a Respiratory Care Manager directs the activities of the respiratory therapy section. Supervises technical staff and students. Additionally, Respiratory Care Manager prepares departmental budgets and reports. Evaluates new equipment and procedures. Typically requires RRT registration. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Respiratory Care Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes.     About the Position

    The Respiratory General Manager Coordinates clinical and respiratory therapy activities by providing specialized care to patients with respiratory disorders. They are responsible for assessing, treating, and monitoring patients with breathing difficulties and respiratory conditions. The Respiratory General Manager oversees the respiratory team to ensure all needs are met for HSS and all clients of HSS.

    • Oversees clinical team and provides management to respiratory therapists while implementing Health System Services Mission Statement.
    • Reviews customer orders to ascertain correct completion and coverages.
    • Communicates with service personnel to obtain or give information and directions regarding service or installation activities.
    • Performs setups and follow ups to ensure compliance with various therapies.
    • Set patients up on CPAP, BIPAP, NHV therapy, cough assistance, oximeters and suction devices in their homes or facility.
    • Completes ventilator checks, oxygen titration/evaluation for O2 patients on conserving devices and POC’s.
    • Provides instruction on use of equipment and education on respiratory disease state.
    • Setting up neonatal to adult patients on ventilators and performing monthly service checks while coordinating with local hospitals and referrals.
    • Schedule all patient equipment set ups, follow ups, and mask refits.
    • Keep detailed call logs of all phone communication, phone call attempts, and scheduled appointments.
    • Instruct patients thoroughly on use of all Respiratory Equipment.
    • Enter patient data into CPAP compliance tracking program.
    • Follow up on patient progress, work to increase patient compliance.
    • Documents activities as required.
    • Other duties as necessary or assigned.

    Qualifications for Success

    • Supervisory experience strongly preferred.
    • Graduation from an accredited Respiratory Therapy Program required.
    • Respiratory Therapist or Technician license in the corresponding state required.
    • One year in DME, preferred.
    • Valid driver’s license.

    • $65,000 - $85,000 annually, dependent on experience
