Respiratory Care Manager plans and implements the overall respiratory care policies, procedures, and services. Ensures efficient and effective departmental operations. Being a Respiratory Care Manager directs the activities of the respiratory therapy section. Supervises technical staff and students. Additionally, Respiratory Care Manager prepares departmental budgets and reports. Evaluates new equipment and procedures. Typically requires RRT registration. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Respiratory Care Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes. Overview
Works under the supervision of a licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner and performs various general respiratory care duties to include respiratory care treatments, oxygen administration, suctioning, and arterial blood gas puncture and analysis. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care or arrange for the provision of care for neonatal to geriatric patients.

Physical Requirements
Work requires frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling objects. Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds. Maybe exposed to hazardous work environment this includes contagious patients and biohazardous materials. Rapid coordination of eyes and hands to fingers. Sufficient noise and disruptions to cause distractions and stress. Hazardous working conditions in which individual is exposed to definite risk of bodily injury through contact with moving instrumentation, chemicals, or body fluids.
Education, Experience and Certifications
Currently enrolled in good standing in an accredited Respiratory Care educational program approved by the Committee on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC) and successful completion 1 year of such program required. Registered with the North Carolina Respiratory Care Board (NCRCB) as an RCA required. Completed competency evaluations for each of the duties of the job required. Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider (BLS HCP) from AHA is required. Additional certifications per facility/policy standards.
