Respiratory Care Manager plans and implements the overall respiratory care policies, procedures, and services. Ensures efficient and effective departmental operations. Being a Respiratory Care Manager directs the activities of the respiratory therapy section. Supervises technical staff and students. Additionally, Respiratory Care Manager prepares departmental budgets and reports. Evaluates new equipment and procedures. Typically requires RRT registration. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Respiratory Care Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes. To be a Respiratory Care Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 to 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     POSITION OVERVIEW:

    As a Hospital-based RCP, you will be responsible for performing advanced respiratory procedures and playing a crucial role in developing and implementing staff education and competency programs specific to advanced RT procedures. Your expertise and dedication will directly impact the quality of care provided to our patients and contribute to the overall success of our Respiratory Care department.

    EDUCATION:

    Eligibility for the position requires licensure from the State of Montana Board of Respiratory Care Practitioners and all of the required prerequisites

    EXPERIENCE:

    • Must be able to perform as an “in-charge” person in the absence of managers or supervisors, required.
    • Must be able and willing to train newly hired staff within levels of expertise, required.

    LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:

    • Licensure by Montana Board of Respiratory Care Practitioners, required.
    • Basic Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Pediatric Advanced Life Support, required.

    KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

    • Knowledge of general respiratory care processes, procedures and equipment, applicable rules and regulations of Federal and State regulatory agencies as well as GFCH general and departmental policies, required.
    • The respiratory therapist appearance, conduct and delivery of service shall be in accordance with the above, required.
    • Knowledge and understanding of continuous quality improvement procedures and current projects, required.
    • Knowledge of safety and infection control regulations and recommendations, required.
    • Use of usual and customary equipment used to perform essential functions of the position, required.
