Respiratory Care Manager plans and implements the overall respiratory care policies, procedures, and services. Ensures efficient and effective departmental operations. Being a Respiratory Care Manager directs the activities of the respiratory therapy section. Supervises technical staff and students. Additionally, Respiratory Care Manager prepares departmental budgets and reports. Evaluates new equipment and procedures. Typically requires RRT registration. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Respiratory Care Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Responsibilities include:
· Verifies patient information by interviewing patient; confirming purpose of visit.
· Prepare patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests. Measure vital signs, such as pulse rate, oxygen level, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height, and record information in patients chart.
· Secures patient information and maintains patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records; keeping patient information confidential.
· Council patients by communicating physician's orders and questions about procedures and orders.
· Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
· Serves and protects the practice by adhering to professional standards, policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements.
Qualifications and Experience:
· Minimum of 1 year Medical Office Experience is preferred
· Experience working with an EMR system
· Allscripts experience is preferred
· Must have great customer service skills
