SUMMARY OF POSITION :
Our Respiratory Care Practitioner plays a crucial role in ensuring that our patients receive the most advanced care by providing essential respiratory care procedures to critically ill patients.
An integral part of the care team, the individual selected for this role will collaborate with physicians and nursing staff to provide expert assessments of patients and determine and execute an appropriate treatment plan to ensure the best outcomes.
A key member of our emergency team, the Respiratory Care Practitioner responds to emergency calls (codes, traumas, rapid responses), and evaluates the patient’s needs for airway care and secretion removal.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):
Associate's Degree from a CoARC-approved program in Respiratory Therapy required.
Licensed as Respiratory Therapist in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
RRT credential awarded by the NBRC or Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) with at least 20-years of total experience and 15-years of acute and critical care experience at PSHMC required.
ACLS or PALS/NRP certification required.
BLS/RQI certification required.
Critical thinking and multitasking skills required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S):
Excellent communication skills preferred.
