Primary Function of Position: Responsible for teaching an instructional program in respiratory care (RC). Instructs students in theory, professionalism, and clinical competencies necessary for credentialing and licensure. Works collaboratively as a team member in the RC faculty and the Health Sciences Center.

Working Conditions: Steady physical activity is required during days of clinical rotations consisting of walking and standing. Strenuous physical activity is required intermittently when assisting in moving of patients and/or equipment. Conditions are often less than optimal when dealing with patient care, and there is occasional to frequent exposure to communicable disease. Proper precautions relating to infection control and safety must be known and applied. Direct contact with blood or other body fluids to which universal precautions apply require that personal protective equipment be worn in these circumstances. Must be able to show proof of good health and have proof of all vaccinations required at all clinical affiliate sites. Travel between various hospitals each day is required during clinical rotations. Reliable, dependable and punctual attendance. This is not an exhaustive list and reasonable accommodations will be made as needed.
Organizational Relationship: Full-time, exempt personnel position assigned to the office of the Director of the Health Sciences Center. Reports directly to the Respiratory Care Program Director. Evaluated annually in accordance with the provisions of the Board’s policy.
Contract Details: Eleven and a half month contract subject to annual renewal. Working days and hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. or as otherwise assigned.
