Respiratory Care Manager plans and implements the overall respiratory care policies, procedures, and services. Ensures efficient and effective departmental operations. Being a Respiratory Care Manager directs the activities of the respiratory therapy section. Supervises technical staff and students. Additionally, Respiratory Care Manager prepares departmental budgets and reports. Evaluates new equipment and procedures. Typically requires RRT registration. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Respiratory Care Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes. To be a Respiratory Care Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 to 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Qualifications:
    • Human Resources degree or two years related experience and/or training preferred.
    • Experience in home care or knowledge of the health care industry preferred.
    • Previous management experience.
    • Prior scheduling experience preferred.
    • Requires proficiency in computer skills. Mac experience a plus.
    • Have a sympathetic attitude toward the care of the sick and elderly.
    • Maturity and ability to deal effectively with the demands of the job.
    • Must possess and demonstrate excellent communication, leadership and organizational skills and customer service techniques.
    • Must perform and manage multiple responsibilities concurrently and work well under pressure.
    • Current auto insurance required.
    • Must pass background check and drug screen.
    Responsibilities:
    • Recruit, post and manage job ads.
    • Initiates the hiring process for caregivers including processing applications, background screening, testing, interviewing, and reference validation.
    • Orients caregivers and maintains current caregiver files in accordance with policies and procedures.
    • Records employee information such as personnel data, compensation, benefits, tax data, attendance, performance reviews, evaluations, and termination date and reason.
    • Visits clients to introduce caregivers.
    • Works with scheduler to match caregiver qualifications and availability to clients needs.
    • Responsible for employment decisions including hiring and termination.
    • Understands and adheres to established FirstLight Home Care policies and procedures.
    • Reports changes in client condition to agency employees involved in clients care.
    • Takes calls after hours and weekends to handle emergencies, scheduling issues, and client referrals and intakes.
    • May perform continuing and on-going caregiver training.
    • Participate in the quality assurance reviews and evaluations of the agencys services.
