Respiratory Therapist - Home Care works in a home care environment and assists in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients with pulmonary disorders. Collects and analyzes sputum, blood, and breath specimens to determine levels of oxygen, carbon dioxide, and other gases. Being a Respiratory Therapist - Home Care treats patients with pressure breathing, mechanical ventilation, positive pressure breathing, humidity/medicated aerosol therapy, medical gas administration, pulmonary drainage procedures, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Also measures the lung capacity of a patient to determine if there is an impairment. Additionally, Respiratory Therapist - Home Care operates oxygen and other therapeutic gas and mist equipment. Requires a credential of Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT). Requires an associate's degree. Typically reports to a manager. This individual will work with patients in their homes in the Ormond Beach area to provide high quality physical therapy services. Responsibilities:
• Work closely with the supervising physical therapist to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients in their homes.
• Provide hands-on therapy to patients, including exercises, stretches, and other therapeutic techniques.
• Educate patients and their caregivers on proper techniques and exercises to improve their overall health and mobility.
• Monitor and track patient progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care.
• Adhere to all applicable laws, regulations, and ethical standards in the provision of care.
Requirements:
• Valid license as a Physical Therapist Assistant in the state of Florida.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a PTA, preferably in a home health setting.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Demonstrate a strong commitment to patient care and ethical standards.
• Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
