Respiratory Therapist - Home Care works in a home care environment and assists in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients with pulmonary disorders. Collects and analyzes sputum, blood, and breath specimens to determine levels of oxygen, carbon dioxide, and other gases. Being a Respiratory Therapist - Home Care treats patients with pressure breathing, mechanical ventilation, positive pressure breathing, humidity/medicated aerosol therapy, medical gas administration, pulmonary drainage procedures, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Also measures the lung capacity of a patient to determine if there is an impairment. Additionally, Respiratory Therapist - Home Care operates oxygen and other therapeutic gas and mist equipment. Requires a credential of Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT). Requires an associate's degree. Typically reports to a manager. What will you be doing:
As a Respiratory Therapist, you will deliver, set-up and educate patients on the utilization of the respiratory equipment in their home.
What will you come with:
· Associates degree in Respiratory Care
· Current RRT or CRT Florida Licensure.
Specialized Knowledge
· Knowledge of teaching and training on use of equipment
· Knowledge of and ability to use software, EHR for proper documentation
Skills & Abilities
· Effective oral and written communication skills.
· Ability to self-motivate and work independently.
· Bilingual a plus
