Respiratory Therapist - Home Care jobs in Worcester, MA
Respiratory Therapist - Home Care works in a home care environment and assists in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients with pulmonary disorders. Collects and analyzes sputum, blood, and breath specimens to determine levels of oxygen, carbon dioxide, and other gases. Being a Respiratory Therapist - Home Care treats patients with pressure breathing, mechanical ventilation, positive pressure breathing, humidity/medicated aerosol therapy, medical gas administration, pulmonary drainage procedures, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Also measures the lung capacity of a patient to determine if there is an impairment. Additionally, Respiratory Therapist - Home Care operates oxygen and other therapeutic gas and mist equipment. Requires a credential of Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT). Requires an associate's degree. Typically reports to a manager. This position entails working alongside a committed team to provide care for ventilator-dependent patients and clients. This full-time position requires 30 hours per week, with shifts also scheduled on weekends.
Responsibilities include the following:
- Provides Respiratory Therapy services.
- Eevaluates residents for treatment planning.
- Implements physician's orders, administers medication, communicates findings to residents and team, develops care plans, coordinates treatment, and assists in resident admission, transfer, and discharge.
Job requirements:
- Degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program or equivalent. New Grads welcomed.
- Current state licensure and be CRT or RRT.
- High level of management and interpersonal skills to communicate with staff and residents.
