Respiratory Therapy Director directs the programs and staff of the respiratory therapy department. Oversees the provision of diagnostic, treatment, and educational services for patients with respiratory disorders. Being a Respiratory Therapy Director develops and implements respiratory care services in accordance with the policies of the hospital and the directives of the medical staff. Monitors patient progress and treatment plans. Additionally, Respiratory Therapy Director manages departmental budgets and reports, and maintains department records and statistics. Requires an advanced degree. Typically reports to top management. Requires Registered Respiratory Therapist. The Respiratory Therapy Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     Respiratory Care Practitioner - Respiratory Therapy at Providence St. Mary Medical Center, Walla Walla, Washington

    The Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) is responsible for the management of the pulmonary system through the administration of medication, ventilator management and pulmonary hygiene during stable and critical situations. Other job duties include performing invasive and non-invasive diagnostics, daily maintenance and QC of ABG machines and competency testing. RCPs will perform clinical duties and operate equipment according to department policy, with an appropriate physician's order and according to manufacturer guidelines. The RCP will work with humans of all age groups and knowledgeably administer Respiratory Therapeutic measures as recognized by Evidence Based criteria.

    Current Opportunities:

    • Per Diem, Night Shift (not eligible for hiring bonus and benefits)
    • 0.9 FTE, Full-Time, Night Shift (Providence is offering up to a $15,000 hiring bonus for eligible external candidates who meet all conditions for payment)
    • 0.45 FTE, Part-Time, Variable Shift (Providence is offering up to a $9,000 hiring bonus for eligible external candidates who meet all conditions for payment )

    Required Qualifications:

    • Associate's Degree from an accredited Respiratory program
    • Washington Respiratory Care Practitioner License
    • National Provider BLS - American Heart Association

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Previous respiratory therapy experience
    • Provider Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - American Heart Association
    • Provider Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) - American Academy of Pediatrics
