SUMMARY: This position is responsible for preparing patients for physical therapy treatment by welcoming, comforting, providing and/or assisting patient into physical therapy; providing information to patients by answering questions and requests; allaying fears; assisting the Physical Therapist and is working under their license.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Prepares for upcoming therapy sessions by establishing the treatment areas based on the patient’s requirements.
· Cleans therapy areas and sets up organizes any necessary equipment.
· Observes the patient’s development during therapy sessions and note how they respond.
· Directs, prompts, protects, and supports patients’ exercises and functional activities under the guidance of physical therapist.
· Moves patients to and from treatment areas, providing standing support or utilizing wheelchairs.
· Ensures patients are secure on therapy equipment.
· Performs other related duties as assigned by management/physical therapist.
· Ensures that stock levels are adequate, and orders are made timeously.
· Assists front office during down time if back office duties are met.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
· Pursuing a career in this related field preferred.
