The Student Respiratory Therapy Assistant, under the direction of the Cardiopulmonary Manager and RRT/CRT, is responsible for supporting, treating, and maintaining the respiratory system and providing respiratory therapy for all ages as ordered by a physician, according to established standards and practices.

Responsibilities:
- Administration of 02, respiratory medicines, bronchial hygiene, and collection of blood for ABG analysis for all ages.

Maintenance of invasive and non-invasive ventilators for all ages. Assists in airway management for all ages under the supervision of a RRT/CRT.

Assistance with bronchoscopy and specimens from procedure under the supervision of a RRT/CRT.

Performing EKG's and bedside monitoring of patients vital signs, and assessment of the respiratory system for all ages.

Responds to all emergency Codes-Blue/Pink, MET, STEMI Trauma, and Chill under the supervision of a RRT/CRT.

Must travel to patients on various nursing units.
Qualifications:
- Enrolled in a Respiratory Therapy program.

Internal applicants within UPH-Allen may remain in classification, pending respiratory therapy license being successfully completed within six months of graduation.

ACLS, PALS, NRP, and Basic life, within 6 months of hire.

A basic computer skill, read, writes, comprehends and speaks English.

Use of usual and customary equipment used to perform essential functions of the position.
