The part-time instructor is an integral component of the respiratory therapy program, contributing as a member of a diverse team responsible for providing clinical and laboratory instruction to undergraduate students in respiratory therapy.
The salary range for this position is based on credentials.
Minimum Qualifications
- Associate Degree or higher in Respiratory Therapy. Note: Degrees and hours must be from a college accredited by a US Dept of Education accepted accrediting agency such as SACSCOC.
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential.
- Active North Carolina Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license.
- Ability to work in a diverse environment.

Essential Duties
- Assume responsibility for teaching assignments designated by the program coordinator and approved by the department chair.
- Assume responsibility for maintaining all required college records including attendance and grade reports.
- Make recommendations to the program coordinator and department chair for supplies, equipment, and equipment repairs.
- Assume responsibility for being familiar with and adhering to all policies of the college.
- Attend specialized training activities that enhance job performance and foster diversity, equity and inclusion.
- Foster diversity, equity and inclusion with colleagues and students.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive information.
- Pursue continuous improvement in the areas of subject matter expertise; teaching and learning; the use of educational technology; diversity, equity, and inclusion; and other areas related to the strategic goals of the college.
- Facilitate the learning process by designing and implementing inclusive instructional activities that are appropriate and meaningful and that maximize equitable student outcomes.
