Respiratory Therapy Supervisor supervises, organizes, and coordinates the clinical and technical aspects of services rendered to ensure the delivery of quality respiratory therapy treatment. Specific duties may include: counseling staff members about appropriate procedures and policies, performing therapeutic procedures, running quality control tests on all blood gas analyzers, and maintaining equipment. Being a Respiratory Therapy Supervisor is responsible for the administration of oxygen, therapeutic gas, and respiratory medications to patients in accordance with physician orders. Develops, implements, and controls the provision of therapeutic patient care services. Additionally, Respiratory Therapy Supervisor plans and coordinates the daily work activities of respiratory therapists in accordance with hospital policies and the directives of medical staff. Ensures that all policies and procedures are followed according to the facility and department. Requires an associate degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Requires Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT). The Respiratory Therapy Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. Thorough knowledge of functional area under supervision.     Description

    Northwest Respiratory Services is seeking for an experienced Part Time Respiratory Therapists or Registered Nurses to help support our office in Lincoln, NE and the surrounding area. Northwest Respiratory Services is a leading provider of oxygen and respiratory products throughout the Midwest and Rockies. We specialize in serving the long-term care community and oxygen dependent Veterans. The ideal candidate would be someone looking to pick up extra hours occasionally on a needed basis. You will apply your unique skill set and experience to home care and skilled nursing facility environments by setting patients up, providing comprehensive instruction, follow up and ongoing support of high technology modalities.

    In-house training on Northwest Respiratory Services equipment will occur upon hire.

    Compensation:

    • Hourly rate
    • Mileage reimbursement
    • Eligible to participate in 401K program

    Job Duties:

    • Deliver, set up and provide instruction of home medical equipment to include: oxygen concentrators, liquid oxygen systems, BiPAP, CPAP, overnight and continuous oximetry, humidity systems, suction and pediatric set ups
    • Provide routine equipment maintenance, instruction of proper use, safety, cleaning and continuing education to clients
    • Schedule and conduct staff in-services of respiratory equipment to skilled nursing facilities as requested
    • Serve as a resource to referrals, physicians, clients and NRS staff; Assist with troubleshooting of equipment

     

    Qualifications


    Requirements:

    • Current RT/RN/LPN License in the state of Branch location and in other state(s) as required based on territory served
    • Valid driver’s license
    • Ability to pass a motor vehicle records check, and drug test
    • Strong interpersonal skills and customer service skills
    • Excellent organizational and communication skills
    • Ability to work independently
    • Home care experience is preferred
