Respiratory Therapy Supervisor supervises, organizes, and coordinates the clinical and technical aspects of services rendered to ensure the delivery of quality respiratory therapy treatment. Specific duties may include: counseling staff members about appropriate procedures and policies, performing therapeutic procedures, running quality control tests on all blood gas analyzers, and maintaining equipment. Being a Respiratory Therapy Supervisor is responsible for the administration of oxygen, therapeutic gas, and respiratory medications to patients in accordance with physician orders. Develops, implements, and controls the provision of therapeutic patient care services. Additionally, Respiratory Therapy Supervisor plans and coordinates the daily work activities of respiratory therapists in accordance with hospital policies and the directives of medical staff. Ensures that all policies and procedures are followed according to the facility and department. Requires an associate degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Requires Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT). The Respiratory Therapy Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. Thorough knowledge of functional area under supervision.     • Hours: 24hrs flex 32hrs
    • Shift: Day/Evening shift with weekend and holiday rotation; 7:00am-3:30pm; Rotation to all shifts as needed; May be scheduled a combination of 8 and 12 hour shifts

    We are searching for a Respiratory Therapist to perform diversified duties in administering and monitoring Respiratory Care Services according to Physician's orders. Services including but not limited to; Chest Physical Therapy (CPT), sputum induction, breathing exercises, medication delivery, fit testing, Tuberculosis (TB) testing, blood sampling and analysis, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), airway management, bronchoscopy assistance, evaluation and assessment, protocol implementation, patient and family education, smoking cessation, non-invasive and invasive mechanical ventilation, airway management, heliox therapy, oxygen therapy, holter monitoring, Electrocardiogram (EKG) testing and Pulmonary Function Testing (PFT).

    Position requires applicant to work at either Charlton Memorial Hospital and/or St. Luke's Hospital as needed up to position hours.

    Education and/or Experience Requirements:

    • Graduate of an approved program for Respiratory Care is required; an Associate's degree is preferred.
    • CRT is required, RRT is preferred.
    • Valid license from the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Respiratory Care is required.
    • One (1) year of acute and chronic respiratory care experience is preferred.
