Respiratory Therapy Supervisor supervises, organizes, and coordinates the clinical and technical aspects of services rendered to ensure the delivery of quality respiratory therapy treatment. Specific duties may include: counseling staff members about appropriate procedures and policies, performing therapeutic procedures, running quality control tests on all blood gas analyzers, and maintaining equipment. Being a Respiratory Therapy Supervisor is responsible for the administration of oxygen, therapeutic gas, and respiratory medications to patients in accordance with physician orders. Develops, implements, and controls the provision of therapeutic patient care services. Additionally, Respiratory Therapy Supervisor plans and coordinates the daily work activities of respiratory therapists in accordance with hospital policies and the directives of medical staff. Ensures that all policies and procedures are followed according to the facility and department. Requires an associate degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Requires Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT). The Respiratory Therapy Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. Thorough knowledge of functional area under supervision. Muller & Weber Physical Therapy has an immediate need for a physical therapy aide to join the team at our facility located near Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital. This position is responsible for assisting the physical therapists in the treatment of patients with a variety of orthopedic conditions and maintaining the corresponding documentation and medical records.
Therapy aides work under the direct supervision of a therapist in the clinic, assisting with exercises, utilizing medical equipment for physical modalities, such as electrical stimulation and ultrasound procedures, ensuring a safe, friendly, and clean environment at all times. Aides will also perform general clerical and cleaning tasks. Must have excellent communication & multi-tasking skills, a strong work ethic, and reliable transportation.
No prior experience is necessary; however, candidates need a basic understanding of human anatomy and/or exercise science. This is a great opportunity and learning environment for someone with an interest in pursuing a degree in physical therapy, recreational therapy, or nursing/medicine. Knowledge of Spanish is a plus, but not required.
Therapy schedule varies - Monday through Friday, 7am to 6pm.
