Resteel Ironworker, Sr. jobs in Gulfport, MS

Turner Industries Group is looking for experienced Industrial Ironworkers for maintenance work in the Pass Christian, MS area.

This position raises, places and unites girders, columns and other structural-steel members to form completed structures frameworks while working as a member of a crew.

• One (1) to four (4) years of experience in specified skill
• Must be able to pass background check and drug screen
• NO relocation available for this position; the successful candidate will be a current resident in / near the area.

Functional Requirements :

• Off loads deliveries of structural material from hg the fabricator; sets up and breaks down hoisting equipment for raising and placing structural-steel members;
• fastens steel members to cable of hoist; signals worker operating hoisting equipment to lift and place steel member; guides member or rides on member in order to guide it into position;
• pulls or pries steel members into approximate position while member is supported by hoisting device; forces members into final position;
• aligns holes in member with corresponding holes in previously placed member; verifies vertical and horizontal alignment of members;

Tools / Equipment :

Employee may be required to provide the following : tool box, tool belt, crescent wrenches, tape, spud wrenches, hammer, ball pein hammer, tri square, striker, burning goggles, tip cleaners, work gloves, framing square, level, torpedo level, center punch, channel locks, combination wrenches, bull pin, pipe wrench, hacksaw, rain suit

Physical Involvement :

• Employee may be required to do the following : climbing ladders, scaffolds, structures, etc. above and below ground level;
• maintaining balance on ladders, scaffolds structures, etc.; reaching in all directions, handling and manipulating objects and materials;
• coordinating the movements of eyes, hands and fingers to operate tools and equipment; lifting 30 to 50 pounds from ground level, waist level, and / or overhead;
• carrying objects, tools, equipment, etc.; standing; sitting; walking; pushing; pulling; bending; kneeling; crouching / squatting;

crawling; seeing with or without correction; hearing with or without correction

Mental Involvement :

• Employee may be required to do the following : following set procedures and standards; applying basic mathematical skills;
• planning work and selecting proper tools; reading and interpreting load charts; judging distances and slopes accurately;

following oral and / or written directions; reading; writing; ability to recognize and report safety hazards

• Location : industrial maintenance and construction sites and / or fabrication shop
• Mobility Barriers to Access Job Site : uneven ground level; obstructed pathways; work performed at low and / or high elevations;

work performed in confined areas

Climatic / Environmental Conditions at Job Site : predominately outdoor climate; may be exposed to extreme hot or cold weather, excessive humidity, rain, etc.

various noise levels caused by tools, machinery, equipment, etc.; potential exposure to chemical substances
