JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conducts and documents quality control inspections/controls.
- Conducts and documents employee inspections for personal hygiene and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
- Collects samples for laboratory or sensory testing.
- Performs equipment calibration as established by the QA procedures.
- Responsible for identifying and investigating non-conformities.
- Coordinates and enforces corrective action for non-conformities with managers from other departments under general supervision.
- Serves as the point of contact with the USDA Inspector and follows up on any requests in addition to coordinating any action resulting from such requests.
- Works on specific technical projects, including but not limited to, training and special inspections.
- Responsible for communicating programs and standards to QC Techs and other plant employees.
- Recommends new quality policies and procedures as necessary to ensure high quality products, products, process, and services.
- Assists with audit preparation.
- Reviews quality control records, take necessary actions and retrain staff as needed.
- Coordinates services with third party technicians, including but not limited to, pest control and metal detector services.
- Other duties as required by management.
EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of 1 years' work experience in either a restaurant, food industry, or sanitation company as a QC Technician.
- Exposure to food industry production audits, good manufacturing practices, and other food safety standards a plus.
- Ability to demonstrates values of honesty and integrity, respect for others, teamwork, and collaboration, accountability and performance.
- Ability to perform comfortably in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
- Ability to successfully execute many complex tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency in MS Office
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Requirements and skills
- MUST be able to work in temperatures between 30-40 degrees
- Attention to detail and familiarity with industrial equipment
- Excellent physical condition and coordination
EDUCATION:
- High school diploma, G.E.D. or equivalent combination of education and experience
Shifts: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shifts available.
