Position: Full Time-Exempt
Salary: $75,000 to $85,000 annually
Join the RMS team to support the daily operations of a Regional Workforce Development CRV Project in Los Angeles County. RMS has developed a program in partnership with Dealers, local food banks, and other community businesses in select areas of Los Angeles County. We plan to develop a trained workforce of California Refund Value (CRV) Subject Matter Experts (SME) that will help educate consumers about new innovative methods of CRV beverage container redemption. This innovative project includes implementation of reverse vending machines (RVMs) and mobile CRV bag drop programs.
The CRV Project Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the Workforce Development project with direct responsibility in the program’s implementation and development. This project aims to develop a skilled workforce, while serving our retail partners with CRV solutions. This position involves continuous coordination with Cal Recycle for grant financing tasks, and On-the-Ground operations that includes executing day-to-day recycling operations, that involves the efficient collection, sorting, and processing of recyclable materials for the program. The Project Coordinator will play a key role in enhancing workforce capabilities, promoting sustainability, and driving innovation solutions within the retail industry.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Program Development:
- Design, develop, and implement workforce development programs tailored to the needs of the Workforce Development project and grocery industry.
- Collaborate with the Sustainability team in developing a curriculum, training materials, and resources for workforce development initiatives.
- Manage the program’s logistical operations for both on-site and RVM’s services ensuring the smooth flow of recyclable materials from collection to processing.
- This includes remote monitoring of RVMs, scheduling pick-ups, conducting field visits for maintenance, coordinating mobile box truck routes, and overseeing CRV bag sorting operations at the RMS Hub.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Build and maintain relationships with stakeholders including grocers, food rescue organizations and their affiliates, certified recycling processors, and RVM companies.
- Community and Local Jurisdiction outreach
Data Management and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of program reports, training activities, and donation outcomes.
Experience & Education
- 5 years in an operational & project management role
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Ability to travel at least 25% of the time; intrastate travel.
