  • POSITION SUMMARY:

    Primary duty is to assist the Retail Director in buying, day-to-day functions, and acts as a liaison between Conference Services and groups for all amenity sales. Oversees reorders for the department.  This person must interface with the Retail Operations Manager and Retail Supervisors to execute merchandising plans. This person will also work with the Inventory Control Supervisor to ensure that all merchandise has been received, ticketed, and sent to the stores in a timely manner and that the Receiving Room is always stocked.  The buyer will administrate all paperwork having to do with the buying functions (e.g., PO’s and monthly merchandise plan).

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Buy all reorders for fourteen retail stores.
    • Help control inventory with available systems. I.e., Yellow Dog.
    • Place new/reorders in a timely manner.
    • Places Adaco orders and reconciles monthly Adaco statements.
    • Work with vendors on damaged merchandise and write-outs.
    • Enters POs into Yellow Dog
    • Process write-outs and damages for all stores weekly.
    • Receive all magazines for Sundry and process RTV’s.
    • Assist on the sales floor as necessary.
    • Sets up parts on specific merchandise.
    • Work closely with staff in regards to re-orders of selling/non-selling items
    • Attend and participate in weekly meeting of manager team
    • Maintain retail buying office
    • Work with the Operations Manager and Inventory Control Supervisor on all cycle counts and researches discrepancies as needed.
    • Oversee – E-commerce website, special orders, retail catalogue orders.
    • Gift Coordinator for all groups coming to the hotel.
    • Sends welcome letter to group contacts with gift ideas for the group.
    • Orders and prepares all amenities for groups.
    • Ensures that all paperwork and charges for the amenities are completed in a timely manner.
    • Other Job duties assigned.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

    • Excellent communication skills.
    • Two years’ experience in retail. 
    • Computer-friendly with an emphasis on Excel and Word.  
    • Must be able to speak English.
    • Must be able to work flexible hours, including nights, holidays, and weekends.

    These skills and abilities are typically acquired through the completion of a highschool diploma or equivalent is preferred.
