POSITION SUMMARY
The Director of Digital Technology is a key member of the technology leadership team and serves as a hands-on web/app/middleware technology thought leader. This is a “Player-Coach” leader who will develop, plan, and directly implement a digital technology strategy that delivers optimal returns on investment in coordination with the organization’s goals and core values with a focus on a “customer service” orientation.
Areas of responsibility include strategic and technical leadership around digital technologies, leading triage when necessary, and project prioritization and team management.
The role is located in Dallas, TX and this role requires the ability to be present in the office at least three days per week.
KEY OBJECTIVES
- Lead and develop the digital technology architecture including web, mobile app and integrations, with the ability to translate and communicate business and technical concepts across teams.
- Lead digital technology support with an eye towards proactive root cause tracking and prevention
- Build and maintain relationships; Collaborate with our Marketing and Digital team. Earn the respect of franchisees and cultivate strong relationships. Navigate challenging situations with professionalism and confidence.
- Offer creative and practical solutions; Utilize creativity and innovation in problem solving and applying appropriate methodologies relevant to the complexity of the challenge.
- Understand future opportunities; Closely monitor changes with digital technologies and identify ways the company can improve and implement plans to achieve these objectives.
- Maintain a high performing team; Continually assess and lead a talented, flexible, high performing digital technology team that has a high sense of urgency, is customer oriented, is responsive, and communicates effectively and manage the organization with a lean, ‘player / coach’ approach.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES & DESIRED OUTCOMES
Serve as the hands-on thought leader, business partner and team mentor for web, mobile app and integrations technologies
- Collaborate with leadership and partners to identify opportunities for leveraging online and mobile application systems to gain a competitive advantage
- Develop and execute the online and integrations strategy aligned with the organization's goals and objectives
- Ensure digital technologies are efficient, scalable, and maintain data integrity while optimizing priorities, delivery speed and value-based spend
- Ensure that web/app/integrations practices comply with relevant data protection and privacy regulations and security standards and protocols
- Own and drive support processes around online and integrations platforms, with an eye towards continuous improvement and root cause prevention
- Own digital technology related budgeting, planning and procurement, including developing business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for spending and initiatives
- Lead and manage team members, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement
- Provide mentorship, coaching, and professional development opportunities to team members
IDEAL EXPERIENCE
Experience as a Digital Technology Director at a high growth company with a proven track record of high impact
- Track-record of building and leading highly effective teams with a customer service and partnering mindset
- Depth of experience developing / selecting and implementing digital technology capabilities is required
- Experience building strong stakeholder relationships
- Experience in building solutions at a metrics-driven company (especially Private Equity owned) is ideal

QUALIFICATIONS
- 15 years of experience as a digital technology leader at growth companies with a proven track record of high impact
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business or a related field
- Strong full-stack technical competence in digital technologies:
- Web / E-Commerce Platforms
- Magento / Adobe Commerce Cloud
- Application Performance Monitoring
- Containerization in a Cloud Environment
- Strong quality assurance experience including volume testing
- Strategic thinking and the ability to align initiatives with business objectives
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with a focus on understanding and communicating the company’s core business
- Strong leadership and management skills with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team
- Solid understanding of data integration tools and processes
- Knowledge of relevant data protection regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and data security best practices
