    Overview

    Leadership responsibility for WernerCo’s hardware/strategic retail channel. Build strategies and teams that identify opportunities and develop areas of sales growth and profit enhancement over the short, medium and long term. 

    Responsibilities

    • Support, communicate, reinforce, and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization.• Establishes goals to ensure achievement of the market-share objective and profitability plans.• Implement marketing plans and programs, both short and long range to ensure achievement of financial objectives and product and services innovations.• Assure market intelligence is provided to capitalize on opportunities as they occur, and effects of competitive activity may be minimized.• Lead and collaborate in the preparation of customer and strategic presentations including the annual and strategic business and marketing plans.• Develop and grow relationships with customers creating a collaborative selling environment that ensures achievement of the market-share objective and profitability plans.• Provide effective leadership and direction to direct reports, cross functional team members and Manufacturers Rep Agencies• Provide appropriate training and instruction on products, selling functions, business management and administration to Customers, Manufacturers Rep Agencies, and internal personnel.• Interacts with other business professionals in the organization.• Supports corporate initiatives and projects as necessary.• Conduct periodic meetings and audits to determine effectiveness of competitive efforts and degree of achievement of business performance objectives.• Assure the development of Manufacturers Rep Agencies and Account Managers plans and budgets are consistent with the strategic plan and overall corporate objectives.• Other Duties that are reasonably associated with the above essential functions of the job

    Qualifications

    Experience & Education Required:• Track record of success in leading hardware customers to profitable growth – customer focused experience with Ace, Orgill and Do It Best.• Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing or related discipline.• 10-15 years of business experience with increasing responsibilities in planning, marketing, and sales in the retail, wholesale, or professional building materials segments with experience in the Hardware and Ag channels• Demonstrated experience and execution in achievement of market share growth and profitability improvement for a $60M channel.

    Desired: MBA or equivalent
