GET TO KNOW THE ROLE

The Accounts Payable Clerk is responsible for maintaining accounts payable records in compliance with accounting practices, policies, and procedures.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

• Be the face of MCR for new hires and team members; exemplify MCR’s values and set a great example by always demonstrating excellent guest service and professionalism.
• Practice, support and promote the mission, vision, and values of Muckleshoot Casino Resort (MCR).
• Review and process internal and external documentation for accuracy, authenticity, completeness and compliance with Casino policies and procedures
• Input data into computer, prepares computerized and manual schedules.
• Ensure timely payments of vendor invoices and expense reports.
• Interact with vendors regarding establishing new accounts, responding to inquiries, account reconciliation and problem resolution.
• Perform reconciliations of various paperwork, accounts, schedules, and statements.
• Assist in the filing, sorting, and document maintenance of department paperwork.
• Assist other accounting personnel as job duties are completed, or in the case of absences.
• Maintain files of job tasks and procedures.
• Create, maintain, and facilitate a positive and safe work environment; promote positive team member relations and reports issues to appropriate personnel.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING

• Associates degree in Accounting or completion of a business school bookkeeping program preferred.
• Previous accounts payable experience preferred, including experience with data entry of invoices into AP system, coordination of the disbursement process, and vendor relations.

HOW YOU’LL BE SUCCESSFUL

• Knowledge of computerized accounting software applications.
• Ability to demonstrate advanced ten-key by touch and strong math skills.
• Ability to work with and maintain confidential materials and information required.
• Ability to exhibit strong time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing. Read, write, and speak English fluently.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks within a high-pressure environment with speed and accuracy.

WHAT TO EXPECT

• Availability – Ability to work different shifts primarily Monday – Friday dayshift. Some holidays, weekends, and nights may be required to support a 24/7 operation.
• Physical – Ability to maneuver in all areas of the casino, ascent/descent from stairs, frequent standing, walking, sitting, reaching, stooping, kneeling, or crouching, and/or prolonged periods of time focusing on tasks. Ability to lift at least 25 lbs. May regularly need to lift/ move, push or pull up material or boxes necessary to the job function, with or without assistance.
• Environment – Exposure to environmental tobacco smoke (ETS) while working and traversing on the gaming floor.
