Retail Store Manager - Museum plans and directs the day-to-day operations of a retail store within a museum. Develops strategies to improve customer service, drive store sales, and increase profitability. Being a Retail Store Manager - Museum ensures customer needs are met, complaints are resolved, and service is quick and efficient. Ensures all products and displays are merchandised effectively to maximize sales and profitability. The Museum of Craft and Design is now seeking to hire one part-time Store Associate for the following schedule: Saturday, 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM and Sunday 11:45 AM - 5:15 PM. Applicants should have flexibility with scheduling: occasionally hours are needed outside of this schedule.
The Museum of Craft and Design (MCD) is the only museum in San Francisco devoted to craft and design. Founded in 2004, MCD showcases designers, makers, and artists through an exciting and distinctive series of craft and design-focused exhibitions and public programs. MCD seeks a skilled and personable Store Associate to join our team.
Under the direction of the Museum Store Manager, this position assists in the daily operations of the museum store. Store Associates are the face of MCD and hold a variety of important responsibilities. While Associates generally remain in the store area of the museum, this position occasionally requires some gallery ambassador responsibilities in the museum exhibition areas.
