Job Description

Riceland Foods is seeking a Director of Demand Planning. Based in Little Rock or Stuttgart, AR, the Director of Demand Planning is responsible for delivering a highly reliable forecast and driving speed to insights to deliver the best service to our customers at the lowest cost. This role is also responsible for identifying opportunities and tool improvement and may be responsible for leading continuous improvement initiatives.

Job Duties

• 
  Drive business results by managing statistical modeling to project future demand and integration of market intelligence. Identify anomalies in forecasting model and make recommendations to improve forecast quality.

• 
  Partner with Commercial Sales and Finance to deliver a highly reliable monthly forecast. Interpret business drivers that affect forecast/supply chain performance and communicate the impact. Serves as the subject matter expert (SME) for monthly Demand Consensus meetings.

• 
  Be part of the transformation by partnering with leadership to develop and lead implementation of supply chain planning process to future improve the supply chain and drive enhanced planning maturity.

• 
  Develop a culture of accountability around maintaining key supply chain inputs that reflect actual performance.

• 
  Develop talent by building a structure and hard-working team that delivers exceptional service by short- and long-term horizon planning; proactive reporting and clear systems and processes to drive accountability.

• 
  Other duties may be assigned.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in supply chain, math, or finance. Min. 5 years’ experience required.

Attributes and Skills:

• 
  5-10 years demand planning or supply chain experience

• 
  Strategic leader and critical thinker who makes analytical and data-driven decisions informed by leveraging multiple sources of internal and external consumer, competitor, market, product, and financial data.

• 
  Successful track record of developing reliable forecasts that incorporate baseline modeling, sales and marketing activities (promos, etc.), pricing elasticity, new product launches, retailer insights, and competitive activities.

• 
  Experience with Atlas Demand Planning Software (John Galt Systems) is desired.

• 
  Experience with demand modeling, demand shaping, and allocation.

• 
  Strong business and financial acumen with a proactive, solutions-oriented approach to risk management.

• 
  Demonstrated capability of partnering with and influencing across functional areas, including Commercial Sales, Category Management, and Finance.

• 
  Operate with a strong work ethic and unrelenting resolve to follow through and meet commitments.

• 
  A demonstrated willingness to learn, roll-up their sleeves and set an example for the team as a “doer” when needed.
