Retail Store Supervisor

Summary of Role
The Retail Store Supervisor
will be responsible for the day-to-day functions of all systems involved with
the procurement, storage, stocking, shelf placement and sales of branded
products in their retail location. They will oversee retail staff and
coordinate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to drive
increased sales. This position is responsible for maintaining a clean and safe working
environment for employees and a welcoming and enjoyable store environment for customers
and guests. This is a safety sensitive role.
Essential Duties
and Responsibilities
- Provide leadership in daily functions of the retail store, troubleshooting and facilitating customer service best practices.
- Schedule staff and ensure shifts are covered appropriately. Work scheduled hours in the store and collaborate with internal stakeholders for the scheduling of staff as needed.
- Communicate expectations by evaluating performance, providing timely feedback, training and coaching, and recommending personnel actions for assigned staff.
- Maintain up to date systems and procedures to ensure accurate retail inventory and pricing.
- Execute and monitor the processes of ordering, receiving, transfers, inventory, and sales at retail location.
- Ensure accurate information and updates for all customer categories and accounts including employees, producers, local wholesale and external customers.
- Coordinate wholesale account outreach, development, and sales execution.
- Coordinate with Accounting, Sales and Pricing Strategy on cost of goods and pricing related to all product categories and customer levels.
- Execute and maintain efficient procedures for sales to employees in Cashton, Chaseburg and McMinnville.
- Oversee the inventory management and billing of purchases from Corner Stores kiosks in CROPP facilities.
- Submit and record daily retail store deposit to maintain accurate balance sheet.
- Coordinate the use and redemption of all coupons, gift certificates and other incentive programs.
- Assist Payroll on all employee deductions-related activities involving the point-of-sale for both retail and café transactions.
- Maintain stability and reputation of the store by complying with all licensing and legal requirements.
- Ensure compliance with policies, safety procedures and fair employment practices.
- Make recommendations on staffing needs, product offerings, efficiencies, practices and policies.
- Ability to maintain and work with confidential information.
Additional Duties
and Responsibilities
- Coordinate with appropriate CROPP stakeholders on store needs.
- Execute and delegate sale of product from trade partners including UNFI and local producers that complement the cooperative product line.
- Set up and maintain service to UNFI Employee Buying Club members.
- Implement process for routine stocking of all items in the retail display coolers and freezers.
- Maintain information related to internal Customer Service and Category Management programs.
- Monitor and comply with all local, state, and federal tax regulations.
- Seek to continually improve processes for the retail store and staff.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Three years of retail experience required.
- Exceptional attention to detail required.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and interpersonal.
- Ability to prioritize and adapt to changing work environments and demands.
- Prior supervisory experience preferred.
- Knowledge of cost of goods, margins and pricing preferred.
- Working knowledge of Point-of-Sale and ERP systems preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office platforms: detailed knowledge of Microsoft Excel preferred.
- Proficient in creating and writing proposals, process documents and general communication specific to Retail Services.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in varying temperatures and working conditions.
