Position Summary:

The Deli Manager is responsible for the overall management, performance, and morale of deli associates. Additionally, the Deli Manager oversees the inventory and ordering of products and supplies.

Responsibilities/Duties:

• Supervise day-to-day task assignments of associates, and manage performance of deli associates.
• Ensure proper training, training compliance, coaching and performance of all deli associates. 
• Ensure execution of established security, quality and store operations policies, procedures and practices listed in training materials and other publications. 
• Manage all safety programs and ensure proper execution and compliance. Report and document all customer and associate incidences in the appropriate time frame. 
• Ensure a pleasant shopping experience for all customers, respond to customer complaints or inquiries and solicit customer feedback and input.
• Responsible for overall cleanliness of food service areas, equipment, and facilities.
• Ensure that associates follow proper coding procedures, pull expired items, document and discard. Accurately record all waste daily and report as required.
• Order, receive, stock, and rotate all inventory for deli items. Set pricing of items, control portions, use customer inputs to inform menu decisions.
• Fill orders by making food according to customer specifications and requests. Wrap and ladle food orders. 
• Work with a variety of kitchen utensils and equipment including knives, slicer, ovens, steam tables, etc.
• Perform general housekeeping, including dish washing, mopping, and sweeping, etc.
• Perform other duties as required or requested.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Proven leadership experience in a fast-paced retail, food service, or fuel environment.
• Proven and consistently demonstrated skills in the following: exceptional customer service, relationship building, effective communication, ability to multi-task.
• Ability to partner and collaborate with the management team and associates.  
• Availability to work all shifts, weekends, and holidays, based on business needs.
• Ability to learn and utilize the store’s computer applications.
