Description

Stock Clerk are responsible for promoting store profitability by keeping store shelves and cases fully stocked and providing excellent customer service. Work cooperatively with co-workers to effectively and efficiently get the job done. 

Grocery Specialists promote Mackenthun's Exceptional Experience by greeting every customer with a smile, offering assistance, and answering questions.

Part-Time availability, 15-25 hours/week.

Minimum starting pay $12/hour

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Stock delivered and back stock product onto store shelves in the Grocery, Frozen, and Dairy departments
• Properly face and rotate product on shelves
• Ensure items are re-stocked in an efficient and timely manner
• Clean shelves and cases as needed
• Organize and maintain proper sanitation in the warehouse area and on the sales floor
• Occasionally assist in other departments.
• Perform routine building maintenance including but not limited to: shoveling snow, cleaning store entrance and exit, sweeping/mopping floors, and removing shopping carts from the parking lot, clearing debris and drying (if needed).
• Other duties as assigned. 

Requirements

Qualifications

Minimum Age: 16 Years Old

Retail experience is preferred but not required.

Must have excellent communication skills, verbal and written. Must be able to speak, read, and write the English language.

Express a positive attitude, focus on customer needs and provide exceptional customer service.

Must be able to work independently and as a team, have solid problem solving skills and excellent decision making capabilities. 

Ability to prioritize and efficiently perform duties.

Must have basic math skills.

Must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays.

Minimize company losses due to poor customer service and improper product handling. 

Perform all duties in a manner that safeguards company property, resources and image. 

Must be willing to learn the characteristics and qualities of the products and services Mackenthun's offers.

Must have an interest in selling food and promoting Mackenthun's Exceptional Experience for customers and coworkers.

Physical Demands

Regular/constant standing/walking/seeing/hearing for long periods of time. 

Frequent bending at the waist, reaching with hands and arms, crouching, climbing stairs/ladder, use of fingers. 

Need to be able to define colors, read at close and distant range, and perform repetitive activities. 

Occasional lifting up to 100 lbs and pushing/pulling up to 2,750 lbs with use of pallet jack.
