Revenue Accounting Director is responsible for the development and direction of revenue cycle management operations for the organization that optimize the patient financial interaction along the care continuum.     Opportunity

    The responsibility of the Corporate Director of Revenue Strategy is to provide direction to property teams to identify, develop and implement all potential revenue opportunities including Rooms, Golf, F&B, Spa and other incremental ancillary revenue opportunities for the Kohler Hospitality and Real Estate (H&RE). This role will provide integral support daily to the team for both long-term and short-term goals system reporting and tools and accurate forecasting to maximize the total revenue and profitability. Understand the guest’s perception of product value and accurately align product prices, placement, and availability with each guest segment.

    Specific Responsibilities 

    Responsible for maximizing revenue and profits for the hotels within the Hospitality and Real Estate Group, currently inclusive of The American Club and Inn on Woodlake (located in Kohler, Wisconsin), Lodge Kohler (Green Bay, WI) and Old Course Hotel (located in St. Andrews, Scotland). 

    • Achieve revenue per available room and potential incremental spend for all guestrooms including both leisure and group market segments to aid in the attainment of financial targets.
    • Provide direction, oversight and expert revenue management leadership for the development, implementation, and assessment of revenue strategies for all resort revenue generating areas including golf and spa.
    • Ensure sales and pricing strategies are based on sound commercial judgment through effective analysis and reporting such as annual room revenue budgets by market segment, day-by-day forecasts within 3% variance, rate tier pricing by season, and other strategies as needed.
    • Display professional and efficient utilization of all revenue systems and processes, in line with company and industry best practices and standard operating procedures inclusive of strategic planning, financial planning, forecasting, proposing rate recommendations and securing rate approval, supervising the building of packages and special rates within the Property Management System, overseeing the successful management of these packages through the appropriate channels, etc.
    • Conduct effective information gathering and analysis to identify and maximize all possible opportunities and minimize risk.  Representative, but not fully inclusive, examples include historical demand analysis, forecasted demand, price-value comparison for hotel and competitive set, business mix analysis.
    • Maintain regular communication with relevant hotel and resort team members to effectively implement optimal strategies and controls such as chairing weekly revenue management meetings, attending weekly sales and lodging meetings, identify barriers to success and approaches to overcome them with key stakeholders (including Sales, Marketing, Communications and Operations).
    • Create and maintain a qualified and effective team of Revenue Coordinators and Central Reservations team leadership.  Develop strong revenue management discipline among the team by designing and implementing developmental/educational training programs for the team and potential successors.
    • Drive central reservations, leisure sales coordinators and hotel operators for DK.  Utilize best practice tools and systems such as Navis, to achieve leisure and contracted leisure revenue targets in the financial plan.  Drive Five Star standards to achieve Five Star scores for all reservation calls evaluated per the Five Star evaluations. Achieve all call center metrics to ensure a gracious guest experience. Develop long term staffing strategies and/or the further use of technology to combat increasing call volume.

    Travel for this position will be 15-25%

    Skills/Requirements

    • Four-year college degree, preferably in Hospitality or Business Management, Statistics, Marketing or Finance. Master’s degree preferred.
    • 10 years of experience in revenue management.
    • 2 years of experience in hotel reservations leadership.
    • Demonstrated proficiency in distribution channel management, hotel PMS/RMS and BI. Knowledge and experience in hotel pricing concepts, yield management optimization and selling strategies.
    • Analytical – ability to review figures and draw quick conclusions about past and future trends from data. Ability to communicate business needs to Sales and Marketing groups.
    • Strong Interpersonal Skills – ability to manage across diverse management levels and disciplines, an assertive demeanor to maintain revenue management strategies when faced with resistance.
    • Strategic - ability to take strategically define the path of revenue management, track down and resolve issues, and to operate with minimal direct supervision.
    • Detailed Oriented – as comfortable in interpersonal interactions as with computer systems, data analysis, and project planning.
    • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Products with a prerequisite in Excel formulating and reporting.
    • Understanding of general hotel operations and the philosophy of yield management.
    • Knowledge of travel websites and industry specific reports including TravelClick and STR desired.
    • Must be able to work with and understand financial information and data and basic arithmetic functions.
    • Must have the ability to assimilate complex information data etc. from disparate sources and consider adjust or modify to meet the constraints of the particular need.
    • Use critical thinking skills to investigate changes in demand pace production and channel/source contribution to anticipate a response and ensure communication of critical information.
    • Excellent presentation written and verbal communication to convey information and ideas clearly.
    • Strong organizational management and ability of handling multiple responsibilities at any given time.
    • Approach all encounters with owners, guests and associates in a friendly objective and service-oriented manner.

    The salary range for this position is $119,450 - $152,650. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location.  Available benefits include medical, dental, vision & 401k.
