Revenue Accounting Director is responsible for the development and direction of revenue cycle management operations for the organization that optimize the patient financial interaction along the care continuum. Develops strategies to optimize operations and to ensure sufficient cash flow. Being a Revenue Accounting Director establishes targets, policies, and internal controls that will drive improvements and efficiencies in overall service revenue capture and collection. Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and responsiveness to changes in requirements. Additionally, Revenue Accounting Director coordinates with stakeholders across the organization to drive optimal financial performance. Requires a bachelor's degree. May require Certified Public Accountant (CPA). Typically reports to the cfo or top management. The Revenue Accounting Director manages a departmental function within a broader corporate function. Develops major goals to support broad functional objectives. Approves policies developed within various sub-functions and departments. The opportunity
To oversee the financial operations and planning of Gildan Activewear (Eden) Inc and Gildan Charleston Inc. which includes Charleston and Jacksonville Distribution Centers (“DCs”) and to not only safeguard Gildan’s assets but to strategize with management to maximize the profitability of Gildan.
It will be in the Eden, DC location, in the finance department reporting to the VP, Controller
The roleEssential Functions:
- Oversee the budgeting and forecasting on an annual and quarterly basis and to monitor all expenses monthly by business unit to investigate and communicate opportunities for efficiencies and material variances for Jacksonville, Charleston, and Eden DCs in Hyperion/Smartview.
- Create and publish relevant financial statements to communicate executive management financials results on monthly, quarterly, and annual basis for all NDC, SDC by BU and JAX.
- Closes general ledger on timely basis
- Prepares bridges versus forecasts and prior year
- Distributes SG&A departmental reports to appropriate managers
- Maintain volumes of Invoiced Dozens, Pick Pass Dozens, Rework, VAS actuals and forecasts
- Manage the accounting team to ensure timely and accuracy of financial data for all 3 DCs. Cultivate a team that works together and cross train and create a culture of mutual respect so that employees truly take pride in their work.
- Manage the Freight and Accounts Payables of the 3 DCs to ensure controls in place, most efficient payment process in place, and ensure oversight of all invoices and payments. Review monthly invoices and monthly cut-offs and accuracy of accruals.
- Prepare and approve all month end journal entries and reconcile the general ledger accounts for the 2 companies.
- Work with management of the 3 DCs to create CERs, report all Capex spending, review all fixed asset reports, disposals, monthly depreciation expense and oversee year end asset inventory at 3 DC locations.
- Oversee inventory and financial SOX controls and reporting on monthly and quarterly basis for the 3 DC locations.
- Oversee payroll functions, ensure timely and accurate payroll at all facilities. Oversee the payroll administrator and payroll manager and ensure backups in place for payroll function at the 3 DCs. Ensure payroll controls in place, review, and signoff on each payrolls control reports for DC payrolls.
- Oversee Inventory Control departments at the 3 DCs, review and monitor weekly and monthly inventory adjustments. Monitor reports for inventory or operational issues affecting inventory and work with management to address any major issues. Oversee Inventory Control manager/supervisors to ensure proper counts and controls in place to optimize inventory accuracy. Coordinate and oversee the quarterly inventory audit counts.
- Perform any other duties as assigned to meet business needs.
What you bring to the role
Education and Experience
CPA, Master of Science in Accounting, and 15 years of relevant and managerial experience
Travel:
Barbados, Jacksonville, Charleston, and other locations as needed
Additional Skills:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
- Degree in Business Administration or Accounting required
- Current CPA Certification required
- Extensive knowledge of financial procedures and practices required
- Experience and/or preferred understanding of Hyperion, Essbase, QlikView, JDE
- Ability to work in a team-based environment
- High level of organization is required
- Hearing is required to hear instructions, receive information from various sources, and understand safety warnings
- Vision is required to read instructions, interpret data, and formulate metrics
