Oversees processes for booking revenue, performing reconciliations, analysis, and calculating and distributing royalty checks. Being a Revenue Accounting Manager submits and prepares reports and filings that comply with applicable regulations and practices. Implements specialized oil and gas software to optimize accounting operations. Additionally, Revenue Accounting Manager possesses experience and knowledge of accounting practices that are specific to the oil and gas industry. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in accounting or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. The Revenue Accounting Manager supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Revenue Accounting Manager typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. We’re looking for a candidate with strong leadership characteristics to be our Manager of Revenue Accounting role. The Manager of Revenue Accounting will lead a team responsible for properly calculating and recording revenue in accordance with US GAAP and calculating and recording fulfillment costs for long-term customer contracts. The individual filling this role will be involved in pre-execution customer contract reviews; proactively advising key stakeholders on accounting outcomes to drive better business and contracting decisions. As an extension, this person will also document accounting conclusions for the Company’s significant customer contracts in accordance with ASC 606. As the leader of the team, this person will have responsibility for a set of Sarbanes-Oxley internal controls. As the company continues to grow, the Manager of Revenue Accounting may be asked to support activities including but not limited to: diligence and integration for acquisitions and/or adopting new accounting standards.
