The Revenue Cycle Manager is responsible for managing the financial revenue cycle of our healthcare organization, from patient registration and billing to collections and reporting. This is a critical role that requires strong analytical skills, knowledge of healthcare billing systems, and the ability to work collaboratively within the team.
Duties:
- Oversee the billing process, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with regulatory requirements
- Manage claims submission, follow-up, and resolution of denials or discrepancies
- Ensure proper medical coding practices are followed to optimize reimbursement and maintain compliance with coding guidelines
- Monitor accounts receivable aging and develop strategies to reduce outstanding balances
- Stay updated on industry regulations and changes in healthcare billing practices
- Provide excellent customer service to patients regarding their billing inquiries
- Generate reports and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) related to revenue cycle metrics, such as days in accounts receivable, clean claim rate, and denial rate
- Oversee patient registration and financial counseling processes to ensure accurate demographic and insurance information is captured
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Finance, or related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle management, with a demonstrated track record of success in optimizing revenue and improving financial performance
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, coding systems (CPT, ICD-10), and insurance guidelines (Medicare, Medicaid, commercial)
- Proficient in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and medical billing software
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and analysis
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate across departments and interact with patients, providers, and payers
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC) or Certified Revenue Cycle Specialist (CRCS) certification preferred
