Revenue Cycle Data Analyst | Full Time | Day

Pay Range: $53,601.60 - $85,758.40 Annually Summary The Revenue Cycle Data Analyst serves in an analytical and consultative capacity, providing data-driven insights and actionable information to drive improvement, increase efficiency, and implement best practices in revenue cycle operations. This position supports Revenue Integrity’s Mission of promoting complete, accurate, compliant, and timely revenue capture by serving as the bridge between clinical operations, finance, information technology, and revenue cycle. Reporting to the Director of Revenue Integrity, this position works independently to support all revenue cycle functions through the use of data-driven methodologies and a variety of data analytic reporting tools. The analyst will extract data and develop models to analyze, interpret, and present the data to a variety of audiences. The Analyst will play a key role in projects across revenue cycle functions, with a focus on analysis of data to inform management, drive accountability, and guide business decisions. Works directly with management to identify analytical requirements, locate data sources, develop financial models, and create presentations. Education Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance or Health Care Administration. Master's preferred. Certification, Registration, and Licensure None Experience Five years of experience in revenue cycle analysis or healthcare data analysis; healthcare consulting, or relevant operations. Extensive knowledge of hospital revenue cycle operations and hospital/medical billing to include charge description master, institutional claims, professional claims, and remittance advices. Knowledge of code data sets to include CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10. Knowledge of NCCI edits and Medicare LCDs/NCDs. Extensive understanding of reimbursement to include IPPS, OPPS, MPFS, and managed care. Capacity to access, review, analyze, and interpret managed care policies, billing guidelines, and state and federal regulations. Working knowledge of financial statements and ability to analyze financial information and determine financial impact of possible changes Prior experience with Cerner information systems is a plus. Demonstrated excellent analytical, critical thinking, problem solving, and relationship building and communication skills. Experience creating dashboards, reports, and presentations with compelling visuals using Business Intelligence tools and MS Excel / PowerPoint to interpret and tell the story of the data. Independent, highly motivated, self-starter with a natural sense of curiosity, the ability to adapt to change, exercise initiative, pay attention to detail and use independent judgment. Demonstrated leadership ability including: ability to lead and work in a team, build consensus, problem solve, influence others outside a direct reporting relationship, and handle conflicts with tact. Responsibilities Develops data analyses and reports to inform the decision making process of key hospital programs and initiatives. Creates analyses and presentations to summarize monthly and yearly findings, including accounts receivable, revenue, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), etc. Provides individual and/or group training and communication to managers on system use and data analysis. Provides ad hoc analytical support to others in the organization. Researches and develops new analysis tools and methods. Researches and uses additional available data sources.
